Not sure what these are and what kind of value they have, the serial nbr for the nickel one is #63136 and the blue is
# 171922.
Thanks in advance.

Your nickel one appears to be a .38 S&W Double Action Second Model. It would have been shipped about mid-way through the manufacturing period of 1880-1884.

The blue one appears to be a .38 S&W Safety Hammerless (Lemon Squeezer) 4th Model that shipped about mid-way through the manufacturing period of 1898-1907.

I'd rather not venture a guess. There are other members who are better estimators than me. I will say that S&W made thousands of these models and they aren't particularly rare. Your Lemon Squeezer has what looks like a 5" barrel. That would bring a premium, but I can't say how much.

If someone doesn't get back to you soon, check out the completed auctions at gunbroker.com for guns that actually sold. That will give you an idea of current market value.

Thank you again Guy, I just measured the blue one and its a 4 inch barrel from the cylinder. I appreciate the info

Guy is correct on both IDs. Values are difficult without a personal inspection unless guns are new or rusted into little pieces :), but if these are mechanically sound with unpitted bores and chambers I would guess $200-250 for the Safety Hammerless and $250-300 for the Double Action. This is what you would expect to pay or get from a private party.

Thanks Alan. That was the range I was thinking in for the DA, but here lately it seems Lemon Squeezers are bringing bigger dollars. That's why I hesitate to suggest a value.

From the photos I thought the SH wasn't quite as nice finish-wise, but I could be wrong (my wife tells me this all the time).

Thanks again, now I have something to go by. I would like to sell them, mechanical condition is good and no rust or pitting in the bores. Thanks

Neat pieces. I have a blued version of the nickel/double action model chambered for 38 S&W. Was my great grandfathers. I hope to have it checked out by a gunsmith one day and put a few rounds through it.
