The main part, called a "magnetron" which actually produces the microwaves are all made by General Electric. This is the part that usually goes bad so, regardless of which one you buy you are still getting a GE.
All that said, it is really a matter of features. The one feature I cannot stand is a ringing dinging bell that wont stop until you open the door or do something to the thing to make it stop. If you also do not like this feature then do not buy a Samsung.
My last MWO didn't last a year, but I changed the magnatron myself and they dont really cost a lot {$75.00}

Been in the appliance repair business since 1968. Go spend
$100 at the local wally-world and buy a GE turntable model.
Get a 1100 watt unit. The new Sharps aren't much good.
FYI GE doesn't make many Mags these days. Can't compete with Samsung and Panasonic.

FYI...my current Samsung has in fact a GE manufactured magnatron in it.

I used to fix domestic and commercial microwave ovens until they got cheap and no money to be made there any longer.
It's been years now but personally I've also had good luck with GE microwave ovens if past few years.
One thing about trying to fix one yourself though. They have a capacitor in them that may store a charge and shock you with a few thousand volts even if unplugged. Discharge it with an insulated screwdriver before working on one and if you don't know how to do that stay away from them. I did get lit up a couple times working on them and it isn't pleasant either. My boss wound up in the hospital once from getting shocked on a big commercial unit.

our jenn - air is about 10 years old and still works like the day we bought it....

Better to just buy a new one. Mine is an Hamilton Beach and ive been using it with loads of things for near twenty years now. BTW,just picked up a new Toaster Over--needing to seriously upgrade. I got a nice one at Wm for fourty bucks.
