My local pusher has a very nice...very nice M29-2 Nickel 4" Smith. It has non original combat grips and they are asking $799. I am sure it is a little high, but I have never seen a nickel 29-2 and I have really wanted a 4" and I am chomping at the bit to put money down on this puppy...is it crazy insane out of line at $799?

Rather have that one than the new one which is going for $875 today at the local gun shop here. Shoot I'd love to find a 29-2 4" period.

The gun came with both the original grips and the Executioner stags. I like the stags!

One of our fellow Forum members had a 4" 29-2 nickel, mint shape with presentation case for sale here on the Forum for $800.00 + shipping. Sat for sale for a week or two before someone bought it. Hope that helps with your decision. Bob

The 4" nickel is a very handsome gun !

armybrass, i'd take the grips off (b4 the buy) and make sure there ain't no metal/finish issues. If none, buy it.....snooze & lose. That's my opinion and i'm stikkin' to it. best....gr

I think it is a little high but not unreasonable. I just bought a 629-1 4" from a dear friend with the original box and all the innards, 3K large pistol primers, 200 rds of loaded ammo, about 100 rounds of fired cases, and a few plastic ammo boxes for $500. Estate sale from his deceased father in law. Great guy and someone that I highly admire. I thought I did rather well! Bought 2 Lyman molds and started hand loading for the beast. What a handful! Not something I would shoot everyday. Not something that I would CCW. Got others that will fill the bill...

Service stocks on a 4" N frame are dead sexy. Not comfortable or especially practical, but gorgeous.
