I've installed an Aimtech Model APM-7 on one of my 1911s. This is the type that replaces one of the grip panels and allows you to mount a scope without drilling etc. I'm having problems where I've had to send one scope back in for repair and received a new one to replace it with. I find it difficult to zero in the scopes on this set up and when I had to replace the scope that I had on it previously the scope had lost zero and you couldn't adjust the windage. I'm using Bushnell 30mm Red Dot scopes on it. The first was Model # 73-0131 and the new one is Model # 730135. Has anyone had any experience with these type of mounts? Would the 1911 in 45acp. produce to much torque for these scopes? The scopes are made for pistol, rifle and shotgun use. Any information will be appreciated.
