A buddy of mine wants to make a trade with me. I have a S&W Model 29-2 4" blue mint and a 629-1 SS 3" (that you never see anymore). He will take either on an even up trade for a S&W MP-223. WHICH PISTOL WOULD YOU LET GO???
Thanks for the opinions.

Welcome to the forum!

I own neither of those you mention; but I'm partial to both stainless and 3" revolvers so I'd part with the 29.

There was another thread by the op about this and pretty much everyone said don't make the trade. Once the buying frenzy is over they will be plentiful while them two revolvers will still be rare.

I dont know bout the value of the 2 revolvers so for me it would be two 44mags vs no 223. I'd trade one!

I love blued guns and I think stainless guns are ugly.

If I were to make the trade, I'd let the 629 go.

Plus, I love 4" revolvers.

Between a P&R blued model 29 and stainless 629? No brainer, trade the 629. The 3" is more rare, but not desirable(for me) when shooting 44magnumbs. I agree with the above post, chill out till the craze is over and hold onto both, but if u HAVE to make the trade, then let the 629 go.

Ok, are you looking at monetary value? cause if you are trade the 29 and sell the M/P, you can list it on GB or sell it locally where you live by listing in your local classifieds. either way you can get enough right now to buy two 29s. if I was in your position I would trade and sell it before the buying frenzy dies down. just check what any stoner designed rifle, no matter what brand is going for right now.
if you want the M/P to keep, well you want find one any cheaper right now.

Pass on the deal, keep the revolvers. Don't get caught up in the hysteria. But if ya absolutely gotta have the M&P-223 and you're willing to lose a revolver for it, I'd say keep the blued steel beauty and sacrifice the stainless stunner.
