I haver a very nice 32 long, square butt, wood grips with medallion, dark blue, 2.5" bbl has ramp sight, SN on butt H14395 would like to know when manufactured and type.//thanks Mike

2.5" barrel wouldn't be right unless it's been cut. Measure from the face of the cylinder to the muzzle. Should be 2", 3" or 4".
When you roll the cylinder out you should find "MOD. 31-1" stamped on the frame beneath the barrel. Before model numbers came out in the late '50s it was known as the .32 Regulation Police. Yours is build on the J-frame.
Fun little shooters.

Should look like the bottom gun on the right side; it's the only J frame shown. The rest are a Pre War I frame, PW Transitional I frames, Improved I frames, or Model of 1953 New I Frame. Click on photo for larger view:
