Need Date of Manufacture for my S&W Revolvers

Hi There,
New to the forum. Glad to joint such a fine group of gun owners.
I been collecting some S&W revolvers and want to add the Date of Manufacture to my Database.

1) 686-6 6" SS Rubber Grips w/ Lock System SN CYD24xx
2) 686 no dash 4" SS Wood Grips pre-lock SN ABB46xx
3) 28-2 6" Blue Wood Grips Highway Patrolman SN N5245xx
Yoke Number 374xx E6
4) 17 no dash 6" Blue 22LR Wood Grips SN K4095xx
Yoke Number 1481xx M4
5) 10-5 4" Blue 38spl Wood Grips Squared SN C7885xx
6) 624 no dash 6" SS 44spl Wood Grips SN AHB52xx
Yoke Number B15 52x92
7) 29-3 6" Blue 44mag Wood Grips SN AZJ54xx
Yoke Number 935xx

I hope all of them are 1980 to present, if not, please let me know.

Here's the best I could do with data from the 4ed of the Smith Catalog.

686-6 - 2001
686 - 1983 (?)
28-2 - 1978
17 - 1960
10-5 - 1963-65 (C622700-C8105532)
624 - 1985
29-3 - 1988

Some of the 3 letter serial numbers are hard to judge. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than I will probably chime in and be more correct. Anyway, these are close if not right on.

Hello Guys,

New to this forum, first post, I just purchased my second S&W revolver, my first I had since I first was on the job, in 1982, yesterday after buying nothing but Glocks, I bought my second S&W revolver, a 629-3, 4 inch .44 Magnum..

I have been bitten by the S&W revolver bug, I plan on buying more, I was just wondering if anyone might be able to give me a rough idea when my 629-3 was manufactured..

Any help on the following revolvers would be greatly appreciated. .

Model 65-3 , Stainless Steel, 3 inch, 38/357 Magnum
Serial number ABH29XX

Model 629-3, Stainless Steel, 6 inch, .44/.44 Magnum
Serial number BFW35XX
