Need help contacting J&R engineering..( Carbide checkering tools , the only maker )

I have been trying to contact this company for Months. There web page still takes money, but they haven't returned any of my calls or emails. Not one bit of information I have received from them. I had to file a PayPal claim to recover my money. They never responded to PayPal. They are / were the only maker of power checkering tools and carbide hand tools. I need these tools so bad I am willing to take what I can get. Here is the only contact info I have.

J&R Engineering POB 77 Athol, MA 01331, USA 978-249-9241
Any help in contacting these people would be much appreciated.

You are not the first to have the problem with Mr.Jon Doiron in Athol, MA.

This has been a common complaint from many users of the carbide cutters & older MMC machines that need resharpening.
I think the son took over the operation of the company and all fell apart,,but that's just something I heard about.

Anyway, don't waste your time nor money anymore trying to contact them. People are still trying to recover money and tools/cutters sent to them from as long as a couple years back.

I don't know of anyone producing the carbide cutters for the mechanical checkering machines nor the resharpening services,,just yet. See below..

Midway sold the J&R machines, cutters and even their carbide hand checkering tools till very recently,,this past Fall I believe.
Sold under the 'Doiron' brand name.
Everything listing in Midway's on-line catalog now has 'discontinued by manufacturer' printed in place of a price or availability.

However,,
Dan May @ Classic Guns in Oswego NY stated about 8 or 9 months ago that he was in contact with a tool mfg'r about having both the hand tools and the cutters made. I haven't heard a followup.
He's at Classic Gunstocks

Here's a thread from a double Gun forum about the problem. His comments about the possible start up are near the end. He posts there as 'cgs'.

I'm hoping this helps..

[email protected] thank you.

important update

[email protected] is not a valid address. I will be trying the ph. #. I just visited the J&R page and it read this : IMPORTANT UPDATE

Jon Doiron, owner of J&R Engineering, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, from injuries he sustained while skiing in Vermont on April 21. J&R Engineering will no longer continue to operate. Any hand tools and cutters found in Jon’s shop and available for sale will be listed on this web site. Customers with outstanding orders will receive a communication in the mail shortly.

Just to update, I contacted John Hosford , he stated that he has the Nsk and foredom version of the power checkering handpiece in stock as well as new cutters that will also fit the dorion tool. Jon's number is 734-395-9818

I will be purchasing from him as soon as I get enough scratch. The other "Dorion" hasn't returned my call or emails. Wich isnt surprizing, seems to be the status quoe for a person with Dorion for a last name.

It amazes me how these kind of Businessmen sleep at might! Almost sounds like The Tyler & Arthur Ceiner fiasco's.
