Need help disabling lock $$ (Missouri)

Most gunsmiths won't touch disabling a safety feature due to liability concerns.

Your best bet is to search lock disable threads and do it yourself. The usual methods are to remove the mechanism or grind off a nib or projection.

You have to know the correct way to remove a sideplate if you don't already. Info also found with a search.

If you don't know what you are doing or aren't mechanically inclined, know your limitations.

Good luck!

I've noticed a difference in the new Smiths' locks - I really doubt that there's any problems with them. I removed the cam out of a few revolvers so it would not be a problem for me, but got one recently that was so tight and well fitted that I decided to leave it alone.

I fully understand the liability concerns , thats why this would strictly be a deal where the person with the tools and knowledge would walk me through it verbally while I do the actual removal. More or less this is just a deal to rent some tools and have a friendly conversation while I am using their tools. [email protected]
