One big reason I own Kimbers is barrel fitting. The slide lock always looks like this.Problem I have (and it's totally mental and probably irrational) is the Kimber Commander's 4-inch barrel. 1/4 inch isn't much, but I have a mental block about going below the 4.25 inch barrels used on almost every other Commander. Contrary input is always welcome.
What's that you ask? The two marks are the barrel lugs fit to the slide stop, greatly improves accuracy. Colt for instance uses the link-up method.(Fit a longer or shorter barrel link to get close. You'll see one band of shine in the middle of the stop. Like the second picture.
