Hey everybody,
I've been lurking around for awhile because I picked up a couple of S&W revolvers recently.

I was wondering if I could get some more info about them.
The first one is a 4" model 66 no dash that has been Magna ported, It has stainless sights. The serial # is 4K7.
Here are some pictures

The second one is a Model 36 no dash that judging by the wear on the sides of the cylinder spent a lot of time in someones desk. The serial # on the butt is J79701

I really enjoy them although the wife has confiscated my Model 36 as her desk gun.

Thanks, It seems like S&W tried to make serial number look up as difficult as possible. I have a Colt detective special and a Marlin 336. It was super easy to look up the year of manufacture on both of them.

I heartily agree with Jack's assessment of the ship date: 1970,
based on others in the Chiefs Special database I maintain.

Would like to see photos of it, too.

The J1-J9999 serial number range began in 1969 and ended in 1970.

Congrats on two really nice and desirable Smith & Wessons.

I only took a couple of pictures of it, I had to sneak it away from the wife.
In the one picture. You can see the marks on the cylinder, My guess is from it laying in a desk drawer.
The guy I got it from said that it was a police trade in. I have no idea if that is true.
