What does it say on the left side of the barrel? (Should give you the chambering. What is the serial number from the bottom of the butt?

It is definitely NOT a 2nd Model. I'm guessing a 3rd Model but need the serial to be sure.

Need help

Most info is rubbed of the left side, I can just make out CTG, and SN is hard to read this is what I get 430895. 43 is the first two and 95 is the last two.

That is a 38 Double Action, 4th Model that likely shipped in 1902. As you imply, the gun is well worn, with some cold blue applied. Original stocks would most likely have been black had rubber, since those pearls are after-market.

Value is low, probably around $150 a $200.

Need Help

Thanks for the info, yes gun is not worth much, my friend just handed it to me said it was in his family for ever, and he did not need it anymore. and thanks for the info. Some times its hard to get all the info from the book.
