Hello everyone, i’ll be sharing the pictures of an S&W M&P 15 rifle and i need help identifying what I’m looking at here. It has 3 modes: AUTO, SEMI, and SAFE. I read everywhere that the M&P 15 doesn’t come in auto?!! (P.S this rifle is located in the middle east, not procured through official sources) (could it maybe be government/law enforcement?) or am i looking at a counterfeit?

Thanks in advance

Looks like someone converted it to full auto. Not hard to do, but will get you in a world of ATF trouble in the US.
Yeah good thing i’m not in the US. I just called Smith and Wesson though to verify the Serial number and they said nothing’s coming up. So I’m sitting here wondering if i have a counterfeit rifle… If i do then it’s a pretty good fake and it sure as hell shoots very well too. That would be crazy though

You have a real

There's several places people into retro AR's take blank or 80% lowers to, to have engraved. You can't tell them from a factory AR.

S&W does make full auto M&P15s for Government entities. Been a decade since I've seen an M&P15 so I can't comment on the authenticity of the lower receiver markings.

That is most definitely a counterfeit gun.
What country is this located in?

It’s a configuration never offered by the factory and the markings are off. I’d bet that’s a counterfeit EO Tech optic mounted on it too.

All M&P-15 rifles are semi auto. The full autos that S&W makes are marked M&P-4.

Looks too good to be a fake or remarked. My vote is it’s from a government ( ours or foreign) contract that S&W doesn’t or can’t talk about.

Looks too sloppy to be a S&W.
