Hey guys I recently got a custom build black powder gun. In short, the way it ignitions the powder is from a .45 winchester mag brass with just a primer. I only have 5 rounds that came with the gun and I need more. Can i use the sizing/deprime die for a .45acp to size and knock out the primer on the .45 winchester mag case? Also I prime cases with a lee handheld primer and will the shell holder for it work with the .45 winchester mag case? Thanks alot

First question, sizing; 45 acp sizer, yes if long enough, also try 45 LC sizer or any Mauser bolt face rifle sizer, say 308, 30-06, 8x57,7x57, 280 Rem,270 Win ect. Second Question yes, you could have answered your own question by looking in any reloading man.

I have successfully reloaded .45 Winchester Magnum brass with .45 ACP dies. So the answer to your questions is YES.

I'm sure everybody is wondering, so I'll go ahead and ask: What kind of black powder gun fires using primed .45 Winchester Magnum brass?

it is a custom BP express Ultimate muzzleloader

Is this still a muzzle loader or do you load the case with BP?
Can you simply use a Lee Universal decapper die and NOT even worry about sizing the case?
The WinMag is simply a longer .45Auto case, just like .357Mag is just a longer .38Spl.
