Im looking for new calls and need some advice/opinions. Im looking for good calls but cant spend big $ on them. I was looking at these RNT - QuackHead Calls and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them.

Thanks

Those are some fine calls but look at Cabela's site

Also look at calls from Phil Robertson ( the Duckman), Quackheadz and get yourself a Morwhistle one of the best allround calls out there.

I've used these for years (i even have Lic. Plate that has QUACK5 on it and my e-mail is duckkiller)

Cheap but good sounding goose call? I'm going with a Knight & Hale Mag Clucker. They didn't invent the short reed call (that was Hess) but they were the first to mass produce it. In fact, most of the super high dollar calls you find on the market will have Mag Clucker guts (or some copy of them).

Good meat duck call, I've carried a Haydell DR-85 for years. Might also look into Winglock for both duck and goose. They're not super high dollar, but they're a little more expensive than the plastics I've mentioned above.

Now, here's the thing... None of the calls I listed come in neon colors or have skulls on them. I've got a friend that blows a quackhead, and it's just fine. Alot of starting hunters think they need the best looking gear, but IMHO it's all just an act.

Ive had the same wooden calls for years, its time to retire them. Its not so much how they look just how they function, after all the birds dont care what they look like. So wood, fancy colors, skulls it doesnt matter sound and function is key.

Thanks

For goose calls there are only three words to remember. Tim Grounds Calls Goose Calls and Duck Calls by Tim Grounds and Hunter Grounds Waterfowl Game Calls World Goose Calling Champions I use an acrylic 007 and an acrylic Super Mag.

For duck calls try Eli Haydel's Haydel's Game Calls, Inc. Not too expensive and they sound GREAT. I've been using their Redlegs (RL99) for about the last 5 years with no problems. I also use there Pintail whistle and picked up one of their acrylic duck calls this year. Man, that acrylic is THE TICKET for mallards.

Hope this helps and good hunting.
