OK a buddy of mine has a Glock 22 40cal 3rd gen. LNIB that he's only run 2 mags through and wants to trade it for my 686-6+ that I just picked up on trade.my gun does have a few wear marks and small scratches. Do you think it's a good trade? Thanks

No, Glocks drop value like a rock and S&W's are constantly on the rise. It wouldn't make since to trade a bar of gold for a shiny rock would it?

Hell no! The Glock 22 is a good and reliable gun but never holds it's value as a S&W 686.

The Glock in that condition is a $400/$450 dollar gun that flies off the assebly line every day. You can walk into just about ant gun store and find a Glock. Neither of those two facts apply to your 686. I like Glocks, great self defense guns, but I would not make that trade.

Glocks can be bought for 400.00 to 500.00 and can be sold for close to the same. Look on the Glock forums and you can verify. Now, they do not appreciate like a Smith. But if you know what you are doing, you will lose little to no money on a Glock pistol. That has been my experience and I have owned Glocks since the 90s.

don't do it. glocks are good for what they are, but a 686 is above and beyond. keep the 686, and go buy a glock for 400-450 at the local pawn shop... they'll have several to choose from!

Like getoff said keep your revolver and buy a good used third gen. Glock. Glock warranties them for life, regardless if you are the original owner or not.
