Nickel , looks like 5inch barrel . Last patent date on barrel is DEC 28 ,14 . Nickel is about 80-85%. Action and lockup are perfect, nice bore. I paid $275.00. On side opposite of logo side the frame is marked " made in USA" serial number on butt is : 4473XX Thanks in advance

About smack in the middle 1920's. Will have a hardened cylinder. At price mentioned okay buy. No tears; no brag.

Concur on ID and valuation, though in California this gun might have sold for a little north of $300. Geography has a lot to do with gun pricing.

Those '20s-era M&Ps can be fine shooters. Over the decades, all varieties of the M&P (mid-size frame, usually .38 Special, fixed sights) accounted for millions of units -- S&W's most commercially successful revolver. They wouldn't have been able to move that many of them without solid customer satisfaction.

What would be a period correct holster ? Any pics of hand ejectors in period holsters?
