Need some help/advice with a pinto 27 *update 5/18* Now with letter!

The N frame square butt combat grips are not often found. The could sell for $125-$150 to help offset the price of a set targets or Magna grips that would be period correct.

It looks even better in your later pics. If it doesn't letter, I'll cover your cost and the shipping to my FFL!

Edit: Same deal if it does!:D

That is good to know! Maybe I can just get someone to straight up trade if I'm lucky. Now I just gotta letter it to find out what grips it shipped with.

The gun def looks good in pics, but it has most certainly not sat in someones safe for 30+ years. This things got a good turn line going and has some, what appears to be holster wear. Someone definitely shot and enjoyed this gun while they owned it. It would benefit from a S&W refinish, but I know I shouldn't touch it.
Thanks for the offer though. Atleast it's good to know I can always get my money back :)

That is a great looking gun. Let us know more when you find out about it, and by all means get rid of those modern stocks. Never hurts to check beneath the stocks for damage anyway, so that is a good excuse to get those eyesores off and protect the finish. :)

I'm not so sure they are N to me it looks like they could be K's ?
They if so could also be sold though.
Dang fine gun congratulations on the find

Thanks for the kudos. I appreciate it.

While I'm at it, I also like to "show off" these two which are also factory legit!!

WOW!!!!!!!! If angels carried S&W's...... thats what they'd be "toten".

K grips will fit an N frame. But the recoil shield is exposed quite a bit. Your pinto would looks great with a set of factory smooth magnas.

Good to know the two-tone letters as original. You have a great S&W collectible. The stocks you are looking for are most likely smooth target stocks made of rosewood (I know Roy did not say smooth stocks, but that is what the vast majority of these guns shipped with).

You have a really fine Pinto Pre-27 there. Glad to hear it came from the factory that way. Thanks for showing it to us and enjoy,

Jerry

How would I find out if that was the case?
