I am hoping to find a hammer and a pin for my .32 top break Smith and Wesson. I sent it off to a gun smith who didn't complete the work and it was returned without the hammer and the rear pin above the trigger guard. I am hoping that someone here might have an idea where I should look or (fingers crossed) maybe one of you would have these parts and wouldn't mind some of my cash?

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Jayman

Which model of .32 Top Break? I think I have a junker 2nd Model that may have those parts.
I believe that it is a 4th model. I need to take it apart this weekend and see what other parts that I was robbed of...

The "smith" buggered the side plate screw too. I will try to get some photos up in the next day or so.

Thanks for offering up the help guys.

What kind of gunsmith in this day and age actually buggers up a screw? I need one of them too I guess. :(

It had a problem with the hammer in single action mode. It wouldn't stay cocked.

If you've never called "Jack First" in Rapid City, SD, you should give him a ring. He has no parts listings on line so ya gotta call him. 605-343-9544. I've bought some really rare and odd gun parts from him over the years.:)

Seeing as how the 2nd Model innards are somewhat different from the later models, I don't know if the hammers are interchangeable. Anybody know??
Besides, the hammer I have is missing the stirrup so you would probably be better off just looking for a complete hammer assembly.
(Junker .32 DA's are not hard to find.....)

S&W Hammer Assembly

I may have the right hammer assembly for your gun but I am not 100%certain. If you want to e-mail me your address I will drop it in the mail to you . If it is not the one you need, you can simply send it back. If it is one you can use, then you can send me $17.00 for it. It is complete with firing pin and main spring strut.

33jayman, the pin that your revolver is missing holds the 'rear sear'. The rear sear is the part (along with the hammer) that allows single action. You may need that part also.

I am pretty certain that most of the guts to my little gun are no longer in there.:(

I really don't know enough about these guns to be comfortable taking it apart.

I have one just like this one that I am working on, what makes the hammer return after firing? My hammer stays all the way in (firing pin through frame hole)
