My son takes MELOXICAM 15 mg. tablets when his gout acts up.
it hurts worse when I'm lying down in bed
Colchicine, "take three times a day until symptoms subside or diarrhea ensues"... no thanks.
Allopurinol "joint pain, stiffness, rash..." uh huh
I had monthly gout episodes. Used to cure them with veterinary Prednisone that I keep in my livestock meds kit. Grow a hump or burn out my kidneys with Ibuprofen?
I cured mine with a triple dose daily (as in EVERY day) of Curcumin supplement and 3 grams of Vitamin C powder. Eating Curry once in a while won't do the trick. Curcumin is under investigation for its anti-inflammatory effects. Everything I enjoy eating or drinking is implicated with gout. I haven't changed my diet and haven't had gout in over 5 years. YMMV

two bit, how do you find out what foods caused an attack?
a friend has developed gout, and is taking allopurinol... what else works better?
oops, i just found the mayo clinic site. that should be correct.
thanks, two bit.
i just looked up gout causing foods.
there's not that much agreement between the sites except for booze, organ meat n fish.
i don't eat much of these.
they also talk about turkey, so i'll check what happens when i have that.
they also mention white bread.
that i make every week n can't possibly stop that.
is there a definitive list out there?
