Here's a deep dive down the 1903 rabbit hole: a set of PJ O'Hare front and rear sight covers.

I've been looking for a set of these for years. They were once as common as grains of sand on the beach, back in the '03s heyday in competition. Old Paddy must have made a blue million on them. As with many things, that has changed. They're now pretty hard to find.

Consequently, I was surprised to find a seller on ebay with both, and in excellent condition. Competitors used a smoke lamp to blacken their sights, to eliminate reflection. These were meant to protect the sights from damage, as well as preventing the black from rubbing off.

Just a cool bit of history from days long gone.1000006334.jpg1000006256.jpg1000006330.jpg1000006329.jpg1000006328.jpg
