I am on the "cheapo" plan so I can't stream it.
But i will add it to my queue. I studied history of Films in College and got to watch most of the real old classics from the beginning of the industry.

It have 400 films in my queue & I'll never watch them all, but I try to watch what I can through streaming.
There doesn't appear to be a formula, yet I notice some that I've saved will become unavailable, for however long, so I try to fit them in while I can.
I'm kinda researching some of the B flicks/drive in fare from the fifties & a lot of it just isn't available even on Netflix.
I highly recommend Peter Gunn if you haven't seen it yet. Around 32 episodes starting w/#1.
Sadly, the remaining 83 aren't available.
I'm mixing up Have Gun Will Travel w/60's version of Dragnet as I go along.
Not everything is available for streaming.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm going to give it a view this weekend.
I can't figure out the methods behind what movies are available via streaming and what ones are not. I could have sworn I looked up Have Gun Will Travel for streaming a few months back when I saw the movie mentioned on this forum and it was not available. Now it looks like it is available.
The nice thing about streaming is if you get a dud (and there are quit a few of them) then it's simply a matter of aborting and choosing another movie vs having to send the disc back and wait for another.

I only have the limited 2 per month plan which is usually plenty. Most of the stuff out now is terrible and I have a hard time even putting 6 on my list.

Charlton Heston as a Mexican, Marlene Deitrich as a Mexican, and they pull it off. John Travolta watches this at the theater in Get Shorty. Two great movies.

Two a month would limit you to movies you really want to see or have been looking forward to doe a while.
I just watched Black Dynamite a week ago and it's some funny Dolomite/Shaft/Mack/Kung-fu combo blaxplotation that's a riot.
They have another in the works.
There's no method to Netflix madness. They lease the rights for a certain amount of time it seems. some of the non-streaming in my queue went to streaming and both versions have posted 2-4 weeks if they are going to unavailable status.
I also send off for concerts. Tony Benett, Diana Krall:Live in Rio, Frank Sinatra, Jane Monheit: Live at the Rainbow Room, Rat Pack in Vegas:Live & swingin'.
However, there are a lotof shows in the 50's & early 60's that they don't have. Hawaiian Eye, Boubon Street Beat, 77 Sunset Strip, surfside 6 etc...

Marlene Deitrich was 56 or 57 and looked stunning. Dennis Weaver played in it as well.
Another movie made reference to by John was Sunset Boulevard, William Holden & Gloria Swanson 1950.

Watched it the other day on TCM.

One more tid-bit on Sunset BLVD. Jack Webb played in it and at that time he was halfway through his six year marriage to Julie London.
Another one of his four wives was Jackie Loughery, winner of the first "Miss USA beauty pageant (1952).

That's a weird coincidence that you mention that... I took that home from Blockbuster last week. Pretty good. I like the watch it now feature Netfilx has. I can't watch it at my place but we use it at my girlfriend's. I used to work at Blockbuster back before my Air Force days and I'm still friendly with the store manager. She set me up with the online 2 out per month plan the employees get for free, so any titles Netflix doesn't have I can sometimes find there.
Both the Blockbuster and Hollywood Video just closed their doors around here. Netflix has killed them off. I guess Blockbuster has a mail service now but I couldn't be happier with NetFlix

I never cared for the notion of going somewhere to rent a movie. I still not so fondly remember the buck extra charge for not rewinding the VHS.
The streaming is nice even though not everything is available.
I end up watching shows that I wouldn't rent and some have surprised me.
Especially newer shows.
I'm gonna have to buy a box coz the blue ray didn't come w/streaming ability.
Tired of watching streaming on the laptop.
Was talking about jazz earlier and I watched the Newport, R.I. jazz festival of 1958.
Wasn't the whole show and was produced in 59, but I'll probably run it again in the background while online for the tunes.

I am very happy with netflix. I have used it for about eight months. The other day I looked up total rental history. Of sixty or more movies I have seen from them the newest was from 1985. I just can't seem to get interested in the new stuff. I have seen some TV stuff that was newer.
Tonight it's "M Squad" with Lee Marvin as a hard boiled detective in Chicago. It is a 1957 TV series.

Lawd have mercy, we've talked about it so much that now I'm seeing the Netflix banner ad.
Just as well as I was growing weary of the lawnmower ad & the online personals E-harmony...
Don't need another lawnmower & ain't no broad gonna put up w/me...
I watch mostly old stuff. Saw trailer park boys the movie and it was interesting.
Had to watch Plan 9 From Outer Space, Superfly, Body Heat, The Mack, One-Eyed Jacks, Taxi Driver, some SNL best of, some SNL episodes starting w/first in 75 and the three available Matt Helm flicks.
The Wrecking Crew (1969) w/Sharon Tate & Tina Louise wasn't available for streaming.
I try to mix it up...
