I picked up a 95%+ finish 4" 19-3 today. The gun has one small (1/32") defect in the bluing and it has Uncle Mikes grips. No box or goodies.

While I only paid $335 out the door, in researching them in this forum, I am not sure if I made a good move.

The shooting lower pressure loads doesn't bother me, but I do cast all my own bullets and have seen some discussion regarding lead accumulation at the gas ring - bringing about the change to the 19-4.

My plan is to shoot +P .38 to medium .357 Magum loads with cast for use at the range and as a field gun.

Am I going to be sorry I bought this? Sorry no pics, I made the purchase but have to add the gun to my permit before picking it up.

If you don't want it, send it to me.

I think that is a good, if not very good price for a M19. They are more in the $450-550 range around here.

Don't second guess your self. Most of these engineering changes were "improvements" in the manufacturing process and very few addressed real 'problems' with the guns. Sounds like you got a great deal and that 19 will serve you well for a long time to come if properly maintained and not beat up with a steady diet of hot magnum loads, especially if you restrict yourself to 158 grain range fodder.

And there would be likely be no shortage of 'helpful' members here that would gladly help you profit a few bucks if you wanted to sell it. Not me, mind you, I already have mine . . . :D
