I saw this pistol that was just released for sale, It looks like a 1911 45 and is a dedicated 22 lr pistol for under 300.00 bucks. It's made in italy and sofar gunblast said it was reliable and pretty good for the money. Has anybody got one yet?

I looked at one of them...it's made of cast zinc (pot metal) with exception of the barrel and certain other parts.

The trigger linkage on the one I handled was Rube Goldberg in nature, and wouldn't work every time. Maybe I handled a bad one at the store and quality will improve.

+1

i saw one last week, not impressed.

Great idea, but the design needs cleaned up badly. The barrel is fixed to the frame but I don't see where standard 1911 trigger/hammer parts couldn't have been used.

In this day and age of MIM, they could have almost as cheaply made the frames out of steel and had the same weight as a real 1911 frame. Ditto the slide.

Would be difficult for a .22 to properly cycle a full weight 1911 slide.
Thats one reason you see some 1911 conversions with partial/multi piece slides.

I handled a couple and shot them at an introduction to a group of gun writers last summer. Not impressed. AS previously stated are pot metal primarily, poor fit and finish, tried several brands of ammo, and none would work reliably. Horrible trigger. Regardless of how cheap they are, I wouldn't have one.

I purchased one of these a couple of weeks ago and am happy with it. I and my 13 yr old daughter have put approx 300 rounds of CCIMiniMag and Federal Bulk through it with no significant issues. The trigger is pretty stiff but will loosen up with time and the accuracy is good. I wasn't going for groups on this outing but really just trying to get the gun to stop or ferret out any issues and get through the break in period.

For $240 as a decent trainer on the 1911 platform and the fact that the ammo is cheap I think it is a pretty good deal...
