Well, I was looking for a small .22lr for CC, ended up winning a 43c on gunbroker last night unexpectedly. My first S&W revolver. Wow, still have the sticker shock of dropping basically over 7 bones on that thing. Will I regret it? I figure it will be a nice piece to hand down to my daughter, on top of being a daily CC for me.
Do you guys have any experience with this gun-if so, likes/dislikes/opinions? What holster do you have for it?
It seems to beat the LCR .22 hands down so it has that going for it.

$700! Ouch that is pricey. I love S&W snubby .22's, never owned one but I'd sure like too! Just not at $700 for me. I think the 43c would be a good lightweight pocket carry piece as long as you are proficient with snubbies. I prefer my j frames with stainless steel frame, the weight sucks but it really creates a smoother/steady shooting experience.

It was $623 plus tax, shipping, and transfer fee. It’s super lightweight at 11 oz. It’s a .22 so no recoil to speak of.

The only problem I have is difficult extraction after the chamber walls get foul. I think this is due to the Aluminum galling in contact with the brass cases. This can happen after 50 rounds or so. I have a rod and patches in my range bag, also a small squeeze bottle of solvent.

Great gun.....I have one and it is very fun to shoot. That price you paid didn’t seem too bad to me. Several years ago I paid about $600 for the 43c and that was pre panic. I am not sure why, but both my 43c and 351c (22 Magnum) were both significantly more expensive than my 442 or 642.

Yeah Ive seen that in prices also with the model 63. All more .22 revolvers more expensive versus their center-fire counterparts. To the OP, while it is light and the .22 obviously has low recoil, firing lightweight guns with heavy trigger pulls (DA defensive shooting) can be problematic when trying to hold on target as they tend to wiggle and wobbly more.

Thank you. I'm used to mouse 380s and 9mm so will need to practice.

Like Bob512 I have both the 43C and the 351C. Both are fun shooters and I carry them using the same pocket holsters that my 38 caliber J frames ride in. Due to the very light weight of these rim fires I can carry one of them in the top flapped pocket of my bib overalls in one of the cheap “foam” pocket holsters.

I've owned an SP101 and a GP100 in .357 mag before. I like single action on those a lot better. Hope I like this DA trigger.
