Not my first S&W but it is the one I've been most excited about! I got it into my head that I just had to have a 4506-1. I found one at the Kokomo gun show today - a really clean example with virtually no holster wear still retaining the factory box. I'm stoked!

Now, that wasn't all I saw...

I was standing in the next aisle, immediately adjacent. It went down behind the SharkTac booth. Apparently the bozo lifted a *number* of items into his backpack. At some point, he makes off with a 638 into his shoe/sock. The last item was a magazine with ammo that the booth owner saw go down.

The booth owner follows the guy as he heads toward the exit and gets him to stop. Another fellow helps turn him around and sit him down. The police show up and make him empty his backpack. There is the magazine in question and the thief claims he bought it in the back. The police walk him back, the purchase is denied and then the fun starts.

They try to get him to come along but he resists. Ends up with three cops on top of him and he keeps resisting. This goes on for at least 3 or 4 minutes until they finally taze him... he KEEPS RESISTING under the pile of leo. The original booth owner and another patron grab the bozo's feet and the LEOs finally get him cuffed. What does the guy do? Yep, keeps resisting. Four or five tactical placements of a fist into bodymass finally stop the resisting. This whole thing took AT LEAST 5 -6 minutes.

Piece of crap.

The original booth owner? Big dude, at least 6'4" and 280 with a black beard and ponytail. NOT the wisest choice of whom to steal from.

I'm glad everything was recovered.

Congrats on your new 4506. Great pistol!

I would have loved to see the melee' that went down.

I am curious though, is a guy with a ponytail tougher than a guy without one? :)

Please post photos of the end label on the S&W blue box. Does it look like this (box for my 1997 4506-1)? I'm particularly interested in the Product Code.

It looks like your pistol has adjustable night sights. If so, please lift up the rear of the rear sight so you can read the side and see if it looks like this:

I saw this show up right before I headed out for work this morning. I wasn't able to lift the rear sight yet but I was able to get a quick pic of the box end. Sorry for the cell phone quality.

Product Code # 108143
Special Order # 4127

If I want to get the night sights relamped, is this a big deal? I believe I read Trijicon would relamp for ~$60?

Please post the date on the side of the rear sight when you can.

As for re-lamping the night sights, yes, Trijicon will do it if you send in just the slide (so you're not shipping a "firearm"). When I asked them about it a year or two ago, the price was around $70 or $75 and that included return shipping . . . you're on your own nickel for the cost to ship to Trijicon.

Thanks, DD. I pm'ed a couple of poor cell pics. Looking at your pics again, maybe I wasn't focusing in the right spot. Back to the safe to check again. ;)

You guys are missing the point here. If we banned guns, then the thief would have nothing to steal, and he probably would have become a buddhist priest

Very cool about the 4506-1 and seeing the scumbag getting tazed.

That is a beautiful gun, congrats

Several years back I bought a 3906 with adjustable sights at a gun show. It has adjustable sights like yours. It was made in 1990 (square trigger guard), like new condition.
