A local guy has a nice 4516 [no dash] with minor holster wear for $450. I offered $400, but he declined. But in the past, if the seller didn't get a better deal, they accepted. That's how I got a real clean 645 with 3 mags for $400. So should I take him up on it? I'm not desperate to get the gun, as I do carry a 3913, but it would be nice. GARY

I can tell you it would cost at least $600 in my neck of the woods, as of late. I wouldn't even think about it if the condition is acceptable. I'm looking for one, myself!

Great price on a great pistol. Buy it, shoot it, love it. Regards 18DAI

I think that's a solid deal.....I made the mistake just last week trying to play hardball with a seller on his 457S.....we were only $50 apart.....I didn't think I had any competition for its purchase.......I was wrong:(

They just keep going up , not a steal but not bad for a clean one .

Heck, I've lost guns when the seller and I were just $20.00 apart. ;) $50.00 is an ocean apart compared to my $20.00. :D

But Dirty Harry said it best: "A man's got to know his limitations."

And Lord knows... I know mine. :)

In my case, I work for the biggest FFL in the state. We have 7, soon to be 8 large stores/ranges, & do 45 gun shows a year where we take 80 tables. 5 months ago I asked the asst boss to notify me if we take in a 4516, or CS45. Haven't got one yet. They did get a nice 3913, which I bought, but no 45's. So I reconsidered, & figure $50 is chump change to not get the gun. He didn't budge, so I did. At first I wasn't willing to, as he lives about 60 miles north, so gas & tolls would be added to the price, but the seller has to pick up a relative at the airport which is 10 minutes from me, so that clinched the deal. I'll let everyone know what mags come with the gun. GARY

Good move Gary on a good gun at a good price. I've had my 4516-2 since buying new in the mid 90s. It's a great gun and you won't regret buying yours.

For any of you guys trying to hunt one down, check out The Outdoors Trader (Georgia). There's a guy using the handle "spistols" that is selling a pretty clean one for $505 (only 1 mag), and I believe he's even a member here (and has a prolific selling history, with a perfect feedback score on the ODT.)
I'd post the link, but I don't think that's kosher here.
So, to answer the OP, I'd say a "nice" 4516 with 3 mags for $450 is a deal you probably shouldn't be waffling on. ;)

That's a very good price. Sometimes sellers just post their guns at good prices and don't expect anyone to haggle. This sounds like one of those. I do the same most often. I try to price it right. The only time I will deal is when I post here on the forum and no one wants something after about a week. Then I figure I am over priced and will reduce.
This is one of those deals where you are going to lose out big time by trying to save $50. I am glad you are taking the deal. Pics when you have it!!

Did the deal in the parking lot of work. Went inside & put 50 through it. Just finished cleaning it. The seller's brother bought it new. A little holster wear, & it's been fired, & not a safe queen, but it's real nice. Now to look for a 4506 hammer, like the 5906 hammer I put on my 3913. I've taken plenty of photo's, but have no idea how to post them here because I'm computer stupid, but if someone would e-mail me @ [email protected] I would send photo's to their E-mail address, or smart phone so they could post them for me. Great gun. Now my problem, what do I carry, the 4516, or the 3913? GARY

It must be contagious! I was out with my brother and we stopped in a Cabela's. Went to the library and saw a 4516-2 and a 4563 TSW. Both in really nice condition. The 4516-2 1 called me, though. They wanted $399.99 for it, with 2 mags and no box, black trigger and hammer. I didn't even argue with them, I slapped it on layaway and will pick it up next week.

By the way, this 4516 no dash will fire w/o a mag in the gun. Is this normal? My 645 does need a mag in the gun to fire. GARY

N4KVE that is NOT how the 4516 ND came from the factory, unless it was ordered from the factory without the magazine safety by an LE agency.

Standard on the 4516 ND was a magazine safety. Hope this helps! Regards 18DAI
