Had business in a town 2.5 hrs. away that I seldom visit, went in a LGS and spotted this "Pre 15" that needed to go home with me. Slight turn line, serial numbered grips. Serial # K 140516 book says 1952. This 5 screw thing is habit forming.

Nice! You deffinately did the right thing. I really like the 4 " barrel with adjustable rear sight. I just inherited a 1951 with a 6" barrel.

Thanks guys, there's just something about that 5th screw that I can't seem to resist. Is there anything you can take for that?

The old five screws can be addictive. If S&W wants to put something extra on a gun, make it a screw instead of a lock. :)

YEAH! Take more trips to that LGS every chance you get. Sounds like a gold mine!

I seem to only remember you talking me "into" buying not talking me through it.

I did call him on this one - when I was on the way home with it!
