"New" 586-1.Help with date of manufacture!

As above . The gun is in very good mechanical condition,but it has some traces of use and very small rust spots that seem easy to eliminate.I'd like to know when was it made.The serial number is AWH-3*** Thanks in advance!

Thanks!.I was shooting it today and I'm impressed at the accuracy.In some of the best groups I got 2,3 or even 4 holes touching each other at 27 yds,offhand! (single action,of course)

The only thing I don't like is the red front sight,it's very distracting and doesn't offer enough contrast against the target.And cannot be changed...maybe I'll paint it black.

Why not just change the color of the target first--I did--made a world of difference.

I have seen black plastic inserts. That seems like a good, inexpensive option if you don't like red.

Thanks for all the responses.Actually,I'm getting used to the sights already.I changed the mainspring for a Wolff reduced power.Very sweet pull but I had two misfires in double action yesterday so I went back to the original.Heavier but equally smooth.The rebound spring is a Wolff 15 lb.The small rust spots are really difficult to remove.Any ideas?
