Just got me a m63 3" , I do have the 43c ,butt and it's a big butt sorry Mike Obama, I need a single action to hit a squirrel at 50 yards.lol ,I needed a ranch pistol and a stainless steel pistol no more Aluminum for me. don't get me wrong now that my 43C is working. I love that gun.ccw Every day "get the f— off me gun"
but I can't hit the side of barn after 25 yards. It's all me shooting double action 2 inch ,point shooting most of the time.so The 63 kit gun will be perfect for what I need. I can hit something single action out to 100 yards lol. My buddy tells me stop your winning and practice more and you could .I just wanted a stainless steel version of the frame anyways wish me luck. I hope it's gonna be nice. I get it on Monday. yes I bought it site unseen from Palmetto. State armory on a clearance sale for 599. it's got a lifetime warranty. Hopefully it never sees the mothership. Wish me luck I pray to the Smith and Wesson God.

Oh I got Ranch Gun Opinions.

In my youth M29 loaded with .44 Magnum mid-range 240 grain LSWC and a variety of ammo, including 240 JHP and snakeloads. Always kept a .22 rifle in the Jeep or the truck for pests.

Now on my F-I-L Ranch when he could not handle centerfire revolvers he went with a Ruger Single Six that is a .22 that has the option of a LR or Magnum cylinder.

My hands fit J-frame 10 times better ,I did all the cowboy action shooting just don't like that grip. Had a real nice freedom arms 38 - 357 little 4 inch but it would bust your knuckles every time you shot it ,just didn't fit my hands right. Schofield brake top that's a little different. I'd like to find a 22 of one of them..

Actually you need a good .22 rifle like the Rossi. Pump action and 100% reliable.

lol no ,I have a 10-22 charger with a 6" barrel and a silencer. If I want to walk around working caring a rifle I'm not Lucas McCain. Even though one of them little rifles, sure are nice. I wouldn't get a Rosie.i have an original 1976 10/22 that will shoot the eye out of a squirrel at 100 yards all day. No, I carry the 43C as a CCW. I wanted something with the same trigger grip feel ,just with the hammer so I can make longer shots. Double action still needs a lot of work this way I get to do both with the gun and shoot it a lot and not wear out my 43C. And after feeling all of these aluminum frame, revolvers sure is nice to pick up a stainless steel Smith & Wesson, but the k frames are way too big for me. I had a Performance Center, Smith & Wesson 357 combat model model. It was a nice pistol, but I got broke and had to sell it.

The finish is like perfect ,fired 50 rounds no misfires, Replaced grip, lockup Is right on, The Smith & Wesson gods were good to me this time. I hope I think I believe ,the gun balance is so nice being stainless steel heavy and Spins just right in your hand just perfect. After buying the 43C and having to send it back, I was really worried about buying another Smith. This one seems to be right on. I'm liking it.

Now I need to go out to the shop and make a few holsters for it.

Also brass ejection from cylinders was easy on all 50.

Good to hear you M63 is working for you. Keep us informed on your journey with it

The 63 is a nice understudy for my M60, both with 3" bbl's. The only thing I don't like about it is those damnable fiber optic front sights! Too, as a new gun, I had to send it back after it locked up on day one. Smith replaced the hand, ejector star and cylinder IIRC, at no charge and I had the gun back from them in < 3 weeks.

Single action it'll keep Federal Auto-Match inside an inch at 10 yds from my antiquated Weaver Stance. DA is a problem with the coil mainspring giving me fits at let off.

Best regards, Rod

Love the gun ,shoots everything, "knock on wood "I have not had a misfire. at my age seeing the front site is harder than hitting a target. I gotta put my glasses on to see my sites then I can't see the target. It's OK. I only shoot 25 to 50 yards anyways around the ranch no other need .it is minute of squirrel at 35 yards just saying. Got maybe 700 rds through it . I can hit the 50 yard gong every time off my front porch, single action ..double action, more than half. but I got the gun to shoot single action. I have a 43 C after changing the springs getting it back from the mothership it's firing on all cylinders shoots all ammo. I use it for 10 yards - and double action. Great little gun now. understudy to my 642 Performance Center. which is at the mothership now because the barrel was wrong and trigger. It didn't work just the normal …isn't that sad to say?
