I need another gun like I need a hole in my head, but I saw a very nice 64-3 on gunbroker and snagged it for $275. 4" barrel, and pictures look excellent. Owner rates it as excellent. I have a 686, but I just figured for $295 shipped, I couldn't pass it up. Comes with original wooden grips. Here's a pic.

That's a decent price. I was at the range this morning shooting my
64-3

The more I shoot it the more of a K frame fan I become. It will grow
on you very quickly.

Enjoy it.

That's the exact twin of my 64-3, although I recently added a pair of factory Target grips that I took off my Model 16.It came with some poor fitting PC magnas that were obviously from another gun, so they had to go....... My 64-3 dates from 1978. The forcing cone - cylinder face fit is tight, coming in at barely .002 but it hasn't locked up on me yet. I think this is a Bangor Punta era gun, it has it's little flaws but I wouldn't hesitate to carry it. It's extremely accurate and reliable.

Some may think k-frame target grips look wierd on a fixed sight 4" k-frame, but for me they work on this gun! I had read that a few LEO's back in the day put target grips on their k-frame .38's (back when you could just buy the grips at the police supply store in a blister pack) to make for a bigger "hook" for drawing the gun out of a retention holster. It also makes the gun look more "impressive" when in the holster, all you see is that huge wood grip hanging out:)
