Picked up a new 642 which does not have that stupid lock
and have a couple questions. Gun appears to be well made and my "counter tests" showed the lock up/ timing was positive and the cylinder/barrel gap was fine. Trigger pull is a bit high but if necessary after a lot of firing if still not happy I know how to go inside and fix.
Question 1 What is the difference between 642 and my 642-1 The fired brass that came with the package in the NYS mandated envelope was dated 2-5-2013.
Question 2 On the yoke/crane when the action is open there is the number 510 which is in bigger script that other lettering on this piece. Any idea what that is, an assembly number perhaps. The serial number is on both the bottom of the grip area between the rubber grips and on the inside of the frame under the barrel. Than number 510 is not any part of the guns serial number
