I've had a BG380 for about a week and put 100 rnds through it.
Great pistol with none of the problems mentioned on forums. However, it is killing my trigger finger, bruising the lower side around the joint. It's like the bone is getting whacked hard from the recoil. Damn! It still hurts today.

I tried shifting my finger up - down the trigger, in - out on the pad of my finger, and finally changed hands. Nothing helped.

I might add I'm new at this and eking along watching U-Tubes, wikipedia, forums, self teaching: I wouldn't know a bad shooting habit if it jumped out in front of me. So you have the latitude to insult my intelligence :) if there's a nugget of wisdom, relatively speaking, it will be greatly appreciated. Otherwise it's another gun for me.

BTW: I'm thinking about having a gunsmith make some changes to the trigger action. To me it's too hard a pull, too long and I can't quite feel the break. What are your thoughts about a trigger job or is it not advisable on a DAO?

My suggestion would be to go to a firearms instructor and see if your mechanics are good, before modifying the trigger or buying another gun.
I've put over 300 rounds through my Bodyguard w/o any such problem. It does begin to sting my hand if I fire more than 50 rounds in a session though. But I'm told that most .380's are going to do that.

It's likely not the recoil but the long slightly hard trigger pull. You are getting bruised from the pulling of the trigger. Practice more, or less. These are not "range" guns. They are pocket defense guns and will never be the most comfortable to shoot all day.
