New Federal Ammo for Old 38s

It's darn near impossible to find defensive revolver ammo in central Virginia.

Yeah, I pretty much have to go to my dwindling stash of factory stuff or unlimber my loading gear and make my own. Fortunately much of my supply of reloading components was bought long ago, before the last two scares.
BTW, for those of you who read too fast or understand too little, $10/box less than the price quoted would be $27.50, a price I still don't think will be gone forever.

I draw the line at 25.00 bucks for 50 rounds. After that, they get the aluminum bat ;)

The good news - gmansportingarms.com has this ammo in stock for $23.65 a box.
The bad news - shipping for 3 boxes (insured) is $29.00 !

I'm lucky to live local to this:

AimSurplus, LLC

When I buy ammo, I don't buy it in 50 round increments. In today's world, anything can make the price double or triple.

Punched up my friendly Inflation Calculator. In 1987, Ten Dollars had the buying power of $27.28 today. So actually in 36 years the price is ten bucks higher more or less than it was 36 years ago. Anything else in your life that close? Cars? Houses? Beef? Shooting is a great CHEAP hobby even today!!!!!! I stand by my premise. Buy this ammo or Federal will drop it. They are making EXACTLY what we need here, and you cheapskates are going to let it slip thru our fingers because you fail to take inflation into account. Don't blame me when we all have to take up Golf for crying out loud!

I bought 3 boxes. As mentioned upbove, I paid the high shipping of $29. The company is only a 2hr. ride from the Harrisburg area to State College, PA. Oh well.

I agree with Norton 750 that our hobby is still relatively cheap.

This round appears to be a cheaper alternative to the Buffalo Bore short barrel 38 Special I use for carry. I hope it works well.
