New format.

Not sure where to post this. Been a member since 2011. Still show as a new member. How do I change this to US Veteran?

Whoever is behind this new forum format I say AWESOME!!

I've been actively on internet forums since 1999.

I've also been employed by internet website designers (Google).

This new format is THE BEST I've ever been on.

The speed of the migration has been incredible.

Congratulations and THANK YOU to all those involved!

i had no idea that the forum had changed. I thought that the site was just down for days

This is the tried-and-true platform and interface used by several popular forums I'm in, for example AccurateShooter. There may be some settings I'd like changed *, but it feels natural and familiar. Try running a forum yourself, smacking into the security and admin issues, before pleading for a return to the old format. I'm sure there were compelling reasons it had to change.

(* Ok, my avatar got mangled! Working on that ... and solved.)

Great improvement! Works better on laptop and on phone, easier to read, larger fonts on laptop. The previous format was badly outdated. Thanks for a great change to a better format.

The only change I'd like is to re-do the artwork at the top of the forum. It's too dark and almost impossible to read with the high contract of the white background next to it. That shouldn't be hard - just lighten up the background and keep the contrast of the black letters.

Great "new" update, I kinda like the dark background. I promise to post more often.
The 49 in the pic has a new home so I will have to add pics of my new S&W's.

Much improved. I mostly lurk/observe/check out threads at this point, and for a long time clicking on a multipage thread to catch up on it was a haphazard affair. It was a mystery where you'd wind up in the thread when you checked back in and it was almost never the last post you read or viewed. That's been fixed.

I also like the fact that that photo thumbnails don't automatically open when you roll the cursor over them.

The search function is much more robust.

The old format was obviously out of date, and in addition to the above improvements I suspect security is much improved.

Great job on the quick changeover, and especially retaining the old content.

Can someone explain why members in PM's from the past have their username crossed out in the message? I've clicked on their username, they're still active members and it takes me to their profile. Just curious what the strike through in their username means.

I looked at my DM's and saw the same thing for some active members. Those messages were from before the system conversion.
I'm not positive what it means, but I suspect they deleted the message from their one inbox. You may see the same thing if they delete the message on the new system ("leave").

I need help with the dm's. How do I delete ones i no longer need? Also, has the limit on number of stored messages been removed?

There are parts of the new format I like and some I do not. I hope I can get used to the changes and learn to better navigate through them. I enjoy the Forum and so I suppose I will have to deal with it. I am just a member, not an owner and have no say in the new format - so I won't post any formal complaints. Hopefully Lee will tweak it as suggestions and or difficulties arise.

I don't care much for change in forum layouts like this. I know it doesn't bother most.
And I don't care for receiving unsolicited emails either so it looks like I'm done here.
Take care.

Forum search... how do you now change search criteria from "most relevant" to "most recent" like on the old forum?

I really like the new look. :) Might take a little time to find your way around the new way but it will be worth it. This is the best
gun centric forum on the web. Mostly friendly members and great mods, what's not to like?
