I have a Nickel Class "A" Engraved Model 59, which came with the standard black nylon grips. I had put a pair of plain/smooth elephant ivory grips with Smith&Wesson medallions on it, but the gun looked to plain to me. I saw these new grips advertised on eBay, and decided to give them a try. They are custom made, black with silver inlay with the S&W logo. They took about 3 weeks to get here, but I think they add alot to the gun, considering the small parts are all high polished blue/black. With the black and silver color of the grips, I think they tie everything together. What do you think? Be honest.

I agree with you. A pistol with that much coverage deserves the grips it finally got. Plain-Jane grips would just not do it justice.

I'd say you're ready for a Texas BBQ.

Very nice.

WoW

Its really got a lot of bling going for her! The grip's motif really compliments the engraving pattern of the gun. Now all you need is a floral patterned western style El Paso saddlery holster and belt to round out that sweet BBQ rig!

I have also seen these grips on Ebay and the story of how they make them. Looks like a lot of intense labor to produce these custom grips.
Thanks for sharing the photos, they look great! Bob

That is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL Model 59!:D

Those grips REALLY dress it up, too! I imagine it looked a bit 'dull' before you got these fantastic grips.

My very first center fire firearm was a Model 59; I put more than 30,000 rounds through it.

I have a real soft spot for Model 59's in general, and YOUR Model 59, in particular!

It is one of THE most beautiful semiautos I've EVER seen, aside from my love for Model 59's

Question for Goldenlight

I too love the model 59; it is my favorite semiauto pistol. You mentioned you ran 30,000 rounds through your M59; what kind of wear and maintenance issues did you have, if any?

Model39: Those grips were made for your masterpiece! Their artistry in wood in the perfect complement for your 59. Even the style and color of the inlay goes with your 59's engraving, and the color of the wood highlights the nickel -- or maybe the other way around!
