P&R, original grips, 90% bluing, they were asking $595 + tax.

I offered $450 out the door and they took it.

Pics when I get home.

I'm happy!

(I seem to be great mis-judging the amount of blue on the gun. I've been corrected a bunch, so I changed my posted)

images are up.

I have some of Brownells Oxpho and will touch of the bluing a bit.

Someone sanded the inside of the grips, so what I thought i saw was just a to faint to make out in good light.

Still a heck of a deal.

Nice. I got a slightly scruffy one a few years back. Sent it off to Smith for mechanical tune-up. It shot beautifully afterwards. Then I sent it off to Fords for their master blue. Trouble is it's "too darn pretty to shoot" now. I have a M66 but that 19 is the schnitz.

I suppose I need to find a deal like you got and just shoot it!

Looks good as is. The 19 is a beautiful revolver. I picked up a worn 19-2 a few months back. I think the wear marks give it character.
Those guns shoot amazingly well!

A good find and you goat a great price! Enjoy it

I'm guessing that was a cops gun from the way the grips are a bit banged up. That's what my issued Model 15 looked like before it was retired when we switched to the stainless models.

Be very careful with Oxpho Blue. I have used it with excellent results on a Colt revolver and a couple of old CZs. However, when I tried to touch up a S&W 15 and a 19, Oxpho actually removed some of the existing blue. I don't know if I did something wrong, but I would never use that product again on a Smith.

I've had no issues with it on my others Smith. Used it for years and it seems the best of the bluing products out there!

Went shooting briefly today. Shot 3 k frames and all were great.

The new gun has a stiff trigger compared to the others but very accurate. I have a spare Wilson spring kit laying around so I may do a trigger job.

Can't expect it to be like my model 14, but I will try and get it close.

Looked it over, and it a Patrolman's side arm for sure.
It will clean up real nice.
Take the stocks off and see if any rain water got inside.
I buy any and all that come by me.
Only one today and it was a "parlor queen" with lots of lipstick and make-up on it.
I passed as the asking price was out of sight.Be sure and take photos of it and post here!
