Hello. I go by M1A4ME as I came to love the M14 while in the US Army in the mid to late 70's. Got my own M1A in 1979 and it went just about everywhere with me for many years. Still have it, it's just been displaced (in the .30 caliber guns) by an unbelievably ugly but awesome shooting M1 Garand.
I'm on my second trip around the flag poles with M&Ps. Bought my first one in 2011 or 2012 and had issues with it. Got the reliability issues fixed (they came back a couple years later) and I parked both my M&Ps in favor of CZ's.
What brought me back to the M&Ps was a Shield 9MM I bought for my wife a few years back. Why oh why wouldn't my big M&Ps shoot like that little Shield? Got one for me and same story. Got a Shield Plus and same story. Finally got a full size PC .40 that shot good enough to suit me. Got a KKM barrel in another full size .40 that is a darn good shooting gun. Building up another 2.0 Compact now. Built up a couple 4" Shield 2.0 sides for Shield Plus frames and they are nice, too. I carry one of them every time I drive somewhere.
I like to tinker with them till I get them like I want, or get something a bit unusual.
