Hello to all. I'm high desert rat. Retired Jarhead-rifleman first. (71-97), retired Lockheed at Skunkworks . Taught a little College at night (That sums me up). My interest, love pulling triggers. Recently came in to Model 24-3 (serial AEMXXXX), 61/2" barrel, minus rear sight. Ran down sight from Irving TX. My .44 is with my gunsmith as forward screw in rear sight broken off into barrel. No problem, my gunsmith got it out with sweat. Now hope to marry rear sight assembly to the .44 Special by Friday. Next day will be at Edwards AFB range to sight it in. Also will visit Temecula Range soonest as well. Wantta' hear it ROAR! By the way, generally not a collector but a shooter. Rifles, semi-autos and revolvers. This is my first S.&W pistol. Will let all know how it goes. EXCITED! Looking forward to visiting several forums but probably will dwell with the Vets. (If they'll let me)

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. And to olgilvyspecial for pointing me in the right direction. I landed.

Welcome from Texas ggp0049. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Welcome to the forum.
It should be a lot of fun once the tin-foil hat crowd finds out we have a retiree from skunkworks.
