this is a great site and very informative. just want to share my experience with the 15-22. No problems so far and i dont have the blue spring. Shot about 750 rounds on the first time out using blazer 525 value pack with 2 fte's and one ftf (looks like a dud). trigger is a little heavy, i might try the "15 min. trigger mod". no mods/upgrade done to it at the moment (waiting for parts and maybe a barrel shroud from beltfed) that's it for now. happy shooting!! :D

Welcome to the family!

I've had good luck with blazer ammo although I tend to shoot the federal bulk more than anything. Out of the box the trigger can be a bit on the rough side. Many here, myself included, have opted for the $9.95 JP-3.5 (yellow) trigger spring kit and a bit of surface polishing (also about 15 minutes all together). Mine went from creepy and gritty to smooth and crisp with around a 4 pound pull... a pleasure to shoot all afternoon now :)

Tons of very cool accessorizing ideas in the picture thread... if you haven't had a chance to peruse the pics, it's worth the time it takes.

There's a lot of expertise here and plenty of great people... Glad to have you aboard!

Ron

Hey, welcome aboard !!! Keep an eye on your barrel nut, they have been known to loosen after some time, and that can affect your accuracy. You'll be needin' a ShooWrench or equivalent. (yes this is a shameless pitch for one of my products !) Take care, Shoo

Feel no shame there shoo... The ShooWrench (or equivalent) is a must-have for a 15-22 owner and I'm glad to have one in my tool bag!

Welcome aboard! As you may have noticed that this site is more "grown up and helpfull" As well as the tips are based on personal experiences, rather than "best guesses" as ALOT of other forums have became.

Along with something to hold the barrel while you turn the "Shoo".

thank you guys for the warm welcome. well, i live in Banada errr, Canada i mean, so getting stuff across the border is not an option. Unless there are guys out here that make stuff like beltfed and shooboy.
Just did the 15 min. trigger job, installed a magpul ctr stock and magwell grip. (i really want a barrel shroud from beltfed :( ) going out to the range next week, i will let you guys know how it goes.

I just bought a Mako magwell grip and it didn't fit. After extensive work with my Dremel, I was able to make it fit. On the rear of the grip I had to extend the inner groove that the rim of the magwell fits into. After that, it fit onto my rifle, but the magazine will not fit into the magwell.

Do you mind telling me what brand/model you got?

^^^ i installed a fab defense magwell grip. i had to cut a notch in the front.
Update: Took it out to the range today and once again im a happy camper! Bolt stays open after the last shot, all the time. shot a over 500 rounds (including 3 mags of rapid fire) no fte/ftf.
only thing that will make me happier is beltfed's barrel shroud. too bad he cant ship it to me :(

Welcome Squeaky.

Could you ask him to label it as something else? Like a paper weight or civic muffler tip or something? Fill it with candy, cap the ends and call it a novelty snack dispenser?

This sounds good. I'll give it a try. lol :D
