Hello, I am new to this forum, and wanted to properly introduce myself to everyone here.
I appreciate all the information that's gathered here, as well as all the discussions in which I will participate. I am glad to have found this forum, and want to thank everyone for their contributions as I am happy to be a member.
I am a 24 yr old male, living in IL. and am bound by many strict laws in my state, that will hopefully change soon for the better. IMO the gun laws here are absolutely ridiculous, however for the most part I can deal with them.
My brother-in-law is a gun enthusiast as I am, and his collection is huge compared to mine (which consists of only one pistol at the moment). Yet I am very proud of that pistol which is a 9mm "Lady Smith" 3953, w/ custom night vision sights. I am using hollow point Cor-Bon +P ammo, and have two fully loaded clips ready to go. (a picture of my pistol is at the bottom of this post)
I have been using pistols, rifles, and shotguns since I was young, starting when I was about 6 yrs old, but have always admired guns, and their mechanics. First pistol I ever shot was a .357 revolver (can't remember the make & model). Since that day at the range, I have always been interested in guns, and got my FOID card as soon as I was eligible. For those of you who don't know what a FOID card is, just Google it, and you'll see one of the many things (laws) that sets this state apart from others.
I now head to the range all the time, and love my Lady Smith very much. I have begun a love for .45's as well, and plan on owning a few in the future, particularly a 1911. I'm looking at either an S&W SW1911 and or a Springfield Armory 1911 Operator. Both being great .45's to own, my brother-in-law owns 2, both are Springfield Armory though, one Loaded and one Operator.
Anyways, that is a little bit of information about me, and encourage you to ask me any questions that you may want to know, or give me a heads up about anything on the forum and things I may enjoy.
I am happy to be a member of this forum and I will enjoy the reading and making contributions of my own. I will be posting questions and other stuff in the future, and I hope to see you there!
THANKS! -Robert
