Actually, it's a long way from new, but it is a very nice shooter grade. I wasn't really looking for a K-22, but ran across this one on a gun auction site. Serial # K1757xx, made in 1953. Ended up with it for $465.

My goodness, that certainly must not have been a very well attended auction site. That could have gone for near twice that amount!

The gun was on GunBroker. When I look for a gun to buy, I look for a nice quality gun, not perfect. I thought I got lucky on this one.

It looks like a standard Patridge. Are there any inserts or beads? Can you post a closer view?

Yep, standard Patridge front sight, no inserts or beads.

Like it. I have a model 17-4 and I certainly would not sell it for anywhere near that. If I had yours it would not be sold for anything close to what you paid. Great buy! Steve

That's a great shooter!! good buy. Still deals out there to be had, I got myself a pretty nice Ruger mark2 in prefect condition a few months back at a good deal. I was only bidder with min. bid $176.00. Two days went by I couldn't believe no one else was going to bid on it. Pleasantly surprised at end, as I'm sure you were.

...great deal...sometimes it seems you can slip through the cracks on an auction and get one of those one bid deals...I have...

Glad that a Forum Member ended up with it. 1953 is my birth year. Was watching it myself. Did not bid high enough if I remember right. Then I bit the proverbial bullet, and went "BUY IT NOW" on a super nice 17-2. It was $550 though. 1964 on it. Bob

Nice. Just about the same I paid for mine a year ago, shipped in 1952. Great shooter.

Love my 17-4 too. Bought it new in 1980 for $225. I think they make a nice pair.

Just wanted to post a picture of a target that I shot with this K-22. Shot at 10 yards from a bench/sandbag, single action. Given the fact that I wear progressive lenses, and the revolver sights are pretty blurred through my "old" eyes, I was quite pleased with the results. It shot circles around my 17-4. The only other revolver I have with a nicer trigger than this is my 14-1. No words can describe the sweetness of the trigger on this K-22.
