This karma will be open to all WWII history fans, with a special invitation to all our forum administrator and moderator staff who selflessly put in their time to keep this vessel on an even keel, plus those folks who keep the SWHF and SWCA up and running...The book given as a prize is one I wrote a few years ago in honor of the service of my family members, especially an uncle who served on a 102 foot wooden warship crossing the Pacific more than once at the scenes of most of the great naval battles of WWII...Most of you will never have heard of the small coastal transports, but they have a story uniquely their own...I wrote two separate books on this subject, and this version is the combined edition with the complete text and illustrations from both...If I ever find the time, a third volume on the same subject will be published...

We'll keep this open until Saturday night to give everyone interested a chance...The book will be shipped directly from my printer to the door of the winner...Just post that you're in, and I hope to get my lovely assistant to choose a winner if she has recovered enough from her own bout with Covid 19 (Delta)...:o...Ben

The Superior Cout Judge who gave me my first Magistrate's appointment served on a coastal transport in the Pacific Theater. Had a piece of shrapnel mounted on a wooden plack on his desk that he said just missed him during an engagement.

Please put me in.
