I received a set of grips made by John yesterday for my Model 27-2 with 5 inch barrrel. I was super impressed with the quality of the grips and the professional craftsmanship used to make them. They are just plain stunning and really add to my enjoyment of this gun.

The gun and grips look great. I just picked up a Mod 27 also and I'm thinking of upgrading the grips. I'm used to Hogue and pack rubber grips but this gun deserves better. I want a good looking pair of wood grips that are COMFORTABLE for shooting. How are your grips for shooting?
Do you have a link for Kurac?

Here's John's email address and you can email him and work out the details on the grips you want. He is very professional and he will treat you great all they way through the process if you have him make you a set of grips.

PS my pictures are pretty good but they are not as pretty as the grips in person.

Very Nice! What kind of wood is that?

The wood is Cocobolo and John emailed me on my preference in color and grain pattern. Like I said he's a real pro.

Really nice, Art.

Must be a trend, I too have just recently put a set of Kurac's claro walnut grips on a new-to-me M27-2 6 incher.

Looks like I'll have to dig out the camera....but don't expect my photos to look as good as yours

I have to chime in too about John's professionalism and his willingness to do what it takes to make his customers happy. Last year I bought 2 sets of grips from him that did not fit quite right due to dimensional differences between the gun he uses as a pattern and the N-Frames I have.

I sent the grips back to him and he re-machined them to fit like a glove on my guns.

Here's one of them... love that Birdseye Maple:
