New M&P .40 with apex FSS wont fire. Help

just got a brand new m&p .40 full size and put in a apex FSS kit with the alum trigger and the timing is way off, fss sear releases the striker but usb barely moves up so striker hits usb so primer never fires. i just get a very faint dimple in bullet. gun shot great last week when it was brand new and put big dimples in primer. any ideas why timing is so off. gun is new all stock except FSS kit

You probably have to adjust the trigger bar loop. The Apex video discusses that. The smaller the loop the farther back it releases the sear. If the loop is too large it releases the striker before the striker block is out of the way.

the loop on the trigger bar is already closed it cant go any smaller. there is something wrong with this apex kit, as the sear is longer which make the sear drop sooner than the factory sear, yet the usb is the same size as stock and has rounded edges that make it move later than the stock usb. so they advanced the sear drop and slowed the usb so timing is way out and gun wont fire.

On my 45 I had to open the loop by increments to get it to work. If you call them they will walk you thru your problem. They told me that when I bought my kit.

opening the loop makes the sear drop sooner, my sear is droping to early before the usb gets out of the way. my loop is already closed so i cant make it any smaller. i dont get why im having so much problems and nobody else is

i finally got a hold of them on the phone. they said they had some bad USB's and they made some new ones with different machining. so they are sending me out one. i hope it works

i received new fss striker block from apex. u can see new one on top is all black and has a less domed bottom compared to old fss block below. so it gets out of the way quicker like the stock smith one. when i put new usb in gun the striker still hit it so i had to remove some material from the trigger bar loop to slow the release of the sear a little. and it now clears and the gun finally fires.
i believe S&W has made a slightly different trigger bar for these mass compliant guns that improve the stock trigger but are a pain to get the apex FSS kit to work with.

went to range and the gun finally shoots. i like the new alum trigger also. the FSS kit sure makes the gun feel totally different. im glad i went with the kit, but it sure did fight me to get it to work on the mass compliant M&P.

Had the same problem with a 9mm CORE. Had to have Apex send me a new USB to correct problem. My CORE was not a Mass complaint pistol.
