Hey all. New to the forum and Smith and Wesson. I've carried quite a few other brands, but this is my first S&W.

I've put about 200 rounds threw my M&P bodyguard with laser. No issues at all so far. Used a few brands, but I feel like American Eagle 95 gr FMJ puts up tightest groups for me.

After 200 it was quite dirty so I gave it a good cleaning and followed the manual's lubrication spots. I've looked over the forums and haven't seen any issues discussed in my gun. Hammer doesn't create that rainbow effect in slide, laser screw is tight, no ftf or fte. I gotta say this forum has a lot of negative comments, but I wanted to leave some positive feedback. Working in law enforcement funding I can say many departments use this gun w/o laser and really like the pistol. Maybe S&W had a bad run or something.

Really enjoy everything about the pistol so far. Except maybe the long trigger pull. Can't wait for my crossbreed ankle holster to get here. Anyway, all positive for me on this pistol.

Enjoy.

Welcome to the forum. I'm glad to hear a positive review. You will find that there will always be more negative reviews than positive. And most of the negative reviews blame S&W and the gun.

Most of the time it is the shooter. Many times it's expectations exceed the guns abilities because of hype. It is what it is.....

I too am very fond of my M&P Bodyguard. Mine is without the laser and I have run approx. 200 or so rounds through it. I was so impressed with it when I first shot it I invested in a set of XS Big Dot sights. It was just the thing to cure my inability to see all black sights in low light situations. Something about 49 yr old eyes vs. 19. It's accuracy and reliability make me VERY comfortable carrying it in my pocket 90% of the time I am out n about.

Just bought one yesterday, have not shot it yet. Hopefully sometime this week I'll get a chance to hit the range.

Are any of you guys running the Galloway trigger mods?

Rixact, welcome to the forum always nice to hear positive feedback in a negative world. Thanks, for your report on your BG.

M&P Bodyguard

After recently receiving my CWP, I did a tremendous amount of research and handling of a wide variety of potential candidates before selecting the M&P Bodyguard .380 for my first carry weapon. My primary consideration was to find a reliable, accurate gun that would be as comfortable as possible to allow me to carry on a regular basis. The BG fits my requirements perfectly. In 2 range sessions, I have put about 150 rounds total of 4 different varieties of ammo through it, and have experienced absolutely no failures of any kind. It's very accurate for it's size, has little recoil, is enjoyable to shoot, and I accept the long trigger pull because it is smooth and safe. I went with the DeSantis pop-up IWB holster because I can carry comfortably and discretely even when wearing just fishing shorts and a tee shirt. So far, I'm very happy with my selection.

That's a nice Holster! I've been at odds trying to figure out which is a good carry holster for my non lazer BG380. Do you know the model # for that holster by any chance? The only stores I have down here are bass pro shop & Academy...

New to the forum also. I also just picked up a new M&P bodyguard. I love it. Shoots very accurate and laser was dead on. Had to put little dots of white fingernail polish on the front and rear sites. I just couldn't see them very well the way they were. Much better now. I only shot 50 rounds so far. (Too cold outside) I did a lot of research before buying it and most everything bad about it was the trigger. I don't mind the trigger at all after getting used to it. I have a friend who has one so I got to shoot his before buying it. Mine is a little stiff pulling the slide back but I'm sure it will get better with use. Now waiting for better weather so I can go out and get the little gun broke in right.

M&P Bodyguard holster

Capt Ron: The Desantis number for the pop-up is 020TAU7Z0. Google the number and you can find it out there for a great price. The Desantis website is very nice. In most cases, when you select a holster and put in your make a model of gun, a picture is displayed of the actual holster for your weapon. They also have short demo videos of most of their holsters so you can see what they look like and how they function. The Insider was my 2nd choice....also provides deep conceal, but sits a little higher than the pop-up. Good luck with your choice.

CaptRon,

A few more choices for you to consider...who doesn't need a drawer full of holsters...hmm, I kinda like that Desantis...;)

I just picked up a Bodyguard with laser as a pocket carry gun. Sometimes I just don't want the weight of my M&P 9c on my hip. I bought a sticky holster and it works perfect both as a pocket holster and IWB. It seems to be the perfect for a little gun. In the IWB mode it does not move at all.

Hi guys new to the forum. I have read a lot of posts about the 380 bg a lot of them bad. I have the m&p 380 bg I have installed the Galloway trigger kit and the heavey recoil spring in mine and love the new trigger. I also installed the mag guts to make this little gun a 7 + 1.

Hi guys new to the forum. I also have the m&p 380 with the laser I shot 200 rounds though the gun with no problems. I did a few up grades to mine I installed the trigger kit from Galloway and with great success I know love this gun even more. I also installed the heavy recoil spring in it which make the recoil better for staying on target better and more faster shots with good placement. I do suggest the mag guts the they sell for it you can make this little gun a 7+1. I read some post about guys make ing the trigger weight litter if any body knows how to go about doing this I would like to know how to. I have not been able to get ou t the range to shoot the gun with the new trigger kit do to the weather here in pa hopefully I will be getting there next week because I joined a pistol club here that has a indoor range

I to have the BG 380 w/laser, love the gun. Can't say enough good things about it. Pretty much Echo statements above. I use the Allien brand IWB holster and like that to for the price. I would definitely check them out.

A new BG380 with laser came home with me today. Will get some range time with it this week. Planning to install the Galloway trigger kit.

Love mine....the thing is a tack driver!! No issues and I plan on keeping it stock other than some night sights.

I have to say I really like my no-laser Bodyguard a LOT. I've had the Taurus and the Ruger but I like the M&P way a whole lot more. I carry it every day. The only function issue I've had is that a couple of times in 300 or so rounds, it has failed to lock back. The only other complaint I have is the black sights that just don't work well for a 59 year old fella. That seems pretty easy to fix so I believe I'll keep this little beast to go along with my 9mm Shield. Kind of wishing I had kept my M&P .22, but I traded it for a VERY nice Ruger Mk II in stainless, so I'll just soldier on with that too!
