I am so excited, after a very long search I finally have in my posession a Shield in 40. Cant wait to get it cleaned and oiled for the first trip to the range tomorrow. Now if only the mini scabbord holster I ordered from S&W 2 weeks ago would come in.....I can get it on Amazon tomorrow...

1st range trip with the shield. I had a few feed problems with the first few mag's, I think I had 3 separate jams. 4th mag on no issues at all, ended up putting 100 rounds through the gun. Like many have said, the gun is very snappy and a good grip is a must. The recoil is very manageable, but I would not run through a TAC course with this as a primary weapon. Also picked up a Glalco OWB holster, the system is great for concealed carry. I now have options depending on weather and clothing, I have a FS 40 Pro and its just not a round the year carry option. So far I am very pleased and will continue the break in range work.

Congrats on the new purchase. I love mine and when not carrying my 40c the 40Shield is my go to gun.

I just got mine and have about 100 rounds through it so far. No issues and the kick is less than I would have thought for a 40 of its size.

First, congrads on your Shield purchase, Second don't worry about issues from previous posts, I'm so sick of hearing about them and if people are still having issues they should have them fixed by now. My Shield 40 has been perfect from day 1, over 600 rounds and nothing has done wrong. It is my EDC, and is actually on me as I type this.

The .40 Shield is also my EDC for a year now and I am very happy with it. It is the perfect size for CCW in Florida as I rarely need to wear a jacket. I carry IWB with a Crossbreed MiniTuck.

Yes I agree, I also live in Florida and my Shield is the perfect carry for the hot weather.

No issues at all with either the Shield 40 or 9mm. Both are at about 800 rounds. The last time at the range I did have one FTF on the 40, but it has to be the ammo because the primer was struck solid. It just didn't fire. Love both of mine.
