just purchased an M&P40 M2.0 Perf Cent, 3.1" for my EDC. I went with .40 since I have a Beretta 96/TLR setup for home defense and didn't want to have multiple calibers lying around....only need to buy one makes it easy to keep track of how much I have on hand. Also, I like the punch of the 40 better than the XD9m I used to have.

I went with the Shield instead of the compact for better concealability, hope I chose right. both felt good, but I found the Perf Center model for a good price so I jumped on it.

I know the trigger will take some time to break in so taking it to the range and dry fire practicing will be paramount before I decide on doing anything to it. No idea how old the ones I tried at the range were so had to compare triggers to a new one.

Any suggestions for the pistol are welcome...will post pics after I pick it up Saturday from my LGS.

I bought one M&P Shield 2.0 in 40S&W, fired it and now I own 3. Each one was under 300 for some reason the owner didn't care for it. Got tons of magazines.

Now, having the Shield 2.0 in 9mm with mags appearing the same I've ended up going to colored base plates.

Shield 2.0 9mm gets red aluminum base plates or the smaller mags get the red aluminum pinky rest base plates.

Shield 2.0 40S&W gets gold aluminum base plates with gold aluminum pinky rest base plates for the lower capacity mags.

Shield 2.0 45acp gets blue aluminum base plates for extended mags and blue aluminum extended base plates for lower cap mags.

Congrats. I would have gone with the compact, longer slide more rounds and not that hard to conceal it.

I use the Shield in 45 and my wife has one in 40 - both are excellent, 100% reliable, and fun to shoot!

An Uplula mag loader is a wonderful accessory to save your fingers.

Man, you ain't woofin dixie about the mag loader, without one it's like trying to fit a 600lb woman into a 98lb womans bikini.

The Shield 40 is a great SD carry gun. You made a good choice.
For some reason the 40 isn't favorable to many folks.
The shield40 is in my carry rotation and I mainly carry it in the summer months loaded with Winchester Ranger-T 165 grainers.

I have the same gun. I haven't bought my holster for it yet as I already carry the .45 version, but I will be ordering it soon. I liked the gun just fine when i first brought it to the range, but now every time I shoot it I fall a little more in love with it. You mind if I ask what you paid for yours?
