Hello, I'm from south Florida and new to the thread. From what I've seen so far it looks like a nice community of 15-22 owners. I just bought my 15-22 A1 from the gun show in Vero beach and only paid 400.00 + tax and was very happy to find it for that price. Was looking at it from local stores and could only find it for the 500.00 price range. Unfortunately for that price it was the stock model and can't wait to start adding accessories to it. I have a long way to go and plenty of time to get it right. I have not had the opportunity to shoot it yet but will be going to the range on Monday and put about 500 to 1000 rounds through it. And last I just want to thank everyone on here for your input and knowledge, hopefully it will help me in making good choices to improve the looks and feel of my new toy.

Congrats on your new 15-22!

Not including the performance center model, the only functional difference between the MOE & standard variant is the quick disconnect sling mount on the MOE. I admit that the QD mount would be nice to have.

Welcome to the .22 rimfire AR look-alike madness. You made a good choice and now the real fun will begin. Lots of great information and even greater folks here on this forum. Welcome.

Congrats on your new purchase and a big welcome from Lexinton KY. :D You will enjoy the vast info. on this site, it has truly helped me! :D

I am about to buy a 15/22 this weekend from a local gun shop in cleveland, ga. I've been researching it over the past few weeks trying to find the pros and cons of this rifle. any info i can get will be helpful. thanks

If I could recommend, I to was looking at this model at the gun shop and really didn't want to pay the price they wanted. So I waited it out and attended the local gun show and found it for 100.00 cheaper then at the gun shop. Also i wanted something my kids could use to get used to firing, wanted to get them involved in the shooting community. Also not to mention the ammo is ALOT cheaper to shoot at the range then my CCW 40. and allows me to get some range time. Last thing is welcome to the forum, here you will find all kind of information and friendly people. Good luck

BOTH of mine love the Federal Bulk 550 from WalMart, but they also have never had an issue with the CCI Blazer, which can be found cheaper, even shipped, on the web in case lots of 5000. I kinda tend to stick with the CCI Blazer due to the round nose and they seem to work the best in my 22 pistols which can be picky at times and I believe hollow points tend to cause some of the issues.

I think you are going to have a hard time find a con at all to this rifle. The way these things are going, I think they'll be the next Ruger 10-22, but IMO a lot cooler!

Thanks for the info. I am teaching my kids also about shooting guns. I was looking at buying them a chipmunk 22. I went to aa gun shop that had one and did not like it at all. Thats when I saw the 15 22 decide that would be the one they would learn with. I will be getting mine on Saturday.
