A very good friend suggested that I go to the range with him about 18 months ago. Got a chance to fire some .38, then some .357 rounds through his Model 19; 2 boxes of ammo later, he couldn't pry the gun from my hands. Next time we went out, he brought his .44 mag; that was a blast (sorry!). Now, I'm almost 70 and looking for my first handgun; I was a city kid my first 23 years of life and remained so until I got married 20+ years ago. My wife is very supportive of my new hobby...
Done a bit of due diligence about what that first revolver purchase might be. I have come up with what I feel is a good choice for me: a Model 617, 10 shot. Many websites offer the opinion that a .22 is a good place to begin. Just love to target shoot at the range---my buddy Joe says I'm a quick learner and the 617 is a good choice. Haven't fired one yet, but I know that will come soon enough.
To whomever is responsible for this website, I offer my sincerest thanks! I've learned a great deal from reading all of your informative posts, ideas and suggestions!
Many thanks, everyone!
